Trinty-Tide

Dear Members and Friends of St. Edwards,

We are now in the longest season of the Church Year, Trinitytide.  This season stretches between Pentecost and Advent..  We do not follow the modern practice of calling this period ‘ordinary time’.  Rather we think of it as a time to reflect on the great mystery of the Most Holy Trinity.

During the Trinity season our attention is called in the Sunday Gospels to many striking aspects of our Lord’s teaching.  We consider among others the great parables of the “Good Samaritan” and the “Prodigal Son”.  We also celebrate wonderful feasts of our Lord and of our Lady, e.g. Corpus Christi and the Precious Blood, The Assumption and the Holy Rosary.  The feasts of many admirable Saints also fall in this period including the feast of our Patron, St. Edward King and Confessor.

Our mission is to preserve the heritage of the church catholic in England with its dignified worship and beautiful music as well as the fullness of the Catholic Faith.  We invite all to visit us to experience this worship and to promote the Glory of Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Very Reverend J. Charles King,  Dean and Rector.
